Social media has never been my cup of tea. As a business owner, I have a hard enough time keeping up with what’s going on in my own house, let alone keeping tabs of what is going on across various social media platforms. As a result, I had this longstanding personal bias which prevented me from buying into the idea of building a strong marketing presence via social media.
First, it’s Facebook. Then, it’s Twitter, Linkedin, Google…Plus?! What would come next, I thought? The list of platforms to stay on top of felt endless to me.
At the same time, I love numbers. In fact, they rule my business. I make decisions every day based on digits. So when BlueCart began to grow, we took a closer look at our lead generation. Much to my surprise, social media was an incredibly important part of the business.
At this point, you are probably in the position I was a few months ago, asking yourself, “Fine, but how the heck do I manage all these social media channels and still run my business effectively?”
Luckily, there is an easy way to manage your social media engagement. It’s a tool called Hootsuite. Hootsuite allows you to centralize all your social media in one place. When you are ready to post, Hootsuite manages the process of corresponding with all the social media platforms you use at once. It even allows you to schedule posts so that they are staggered throughout the day, negating the need to log in over and over again. The simplicity of the whole thing means that even I can post several times a day across several different platforms. And trust me. If I can do it, so can you!
